Pharrell’s first book will feature photographs of children from around the world doing what makes them happy. An imprint of Penguin, Putnam have slated it for a September 22 release. Happy was first featured on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack and Pharrell has confirmed that continuing the dialogue of the song’s message with children is important to him.

“My collaboration with Penguin allows me to continue a dialogue with these children in a fresh, new way. We’re both committed to feeding the curiosity of young minds with imagination” he said regarding the project.

Following the publishing of his Happy inspired book Pharrell will write three more.
