A 2017 track by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has been unearthed

UPDATE: The full track has surfaced online. Check it out below.

Sometime last year, Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter emerged from his robot cavern to record Riga (Take 5) – a 14-minute techno track composed for Latvian film Riga (Take 1).

Taking to Instagram a couple of days ago, French electro legend Ed Banger shared a snippet from the song.

Hear a snippet of Riga (Take 5), a song composed by Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter for Latvian film Riga (Take 1). Despite the soundtrack’s recent release, it’s already super rare.

Despite officially releasing in 2017, the track has yet to hit the wider public because of the soundtrack’s extremely limited pressing. As of the time writing this, there has yet to be a copy sold on Discogs or any other marketplace I could find.

Hopefully, given this is now in the hands of Mr. Banger himself, we can look forward to a more appropriate release of the track. Until then, check out the short demo below.
