Marilyn Manson, one of the prominent “shock rockers” of the ’90s, is no stranger to acting roles, making numerous appearances in both Sons of Anarchy and Salem, as well as starring in the 2016 film Let Me Make You a Martyr.
Now, Manson has joined the cast of The New Pope, the follow-up to HBO’s acclaimed series The Young Pope.
Marilyn Manson, the self-proclaimed Antichrist Superstar, is joining the cast of HBO’s new series The New Pope alongside Sharon Stone.
Paolo Sorrentino’s The New Pope is a follow-up to HBO’s The Young Pope starring Jude Law as an American pope who radicalises the Catholic church. HBO revealed on Friday via Twitter that “Sharon Stone and Marilyn Manson will guest star in #TheNewPope”, joining the previously announced Jude Law and John Malkovich.

Although Manson’s role in the series is still unknown, his attire in the sneaky preview gives us the idea that his character won’t be far from his onstage persona.
