Baba Ganouj is a Levantine dish of eggplant mashed and mixed with olive oil and various seasonings. Babaganoüj (mind the umlaut) are a band from Brisbane, and have traded in the eggplant for crunchy guitars, the olive oil for masterful synth hooks and the various seasonings for a well rounded knowledge of what makes a good pop song.
They’ve recently released a video for their latest single Too Late For Love, in which the band profess a love for swingsets, heart shaped sunglasses and driving tours of Brisbane. I’d say the clip could do with more Ruby, but hey, every video could do with more Ruby. Check it all out here.
Tonight (14 March) the band are kicking off an East Coast tour to support the release of this pop masterpiece, starting at The Public Bar in Melbourne. They’ll be up here in Sydney next weekend (21-22nd) and back in Brisvegas the following weekend (28th) Check out the whole list of dates and venues below for your chance to get some Noujy lovin’.
