19-year-old up-and-coming artist, Bree Rusev, is a singer-songwriter-guitarist from Newcastle, Australia, and if you are on the lookout for a mug full of warm gentle indie folk goodness, this is the one to fill your cup with.

Following up from her recent single, ‘What is love’, Bree’s new track ‘Dotted Lines’  is a sublime, and disarming take on love.

Winning you over with her heartwarming indie-folk vocals, which tug the heart in a way that echoes the unique honey indie stylings of Gabriella Cohen, or a young Joni Mitchell. With her finger-picked acoustic melodies, compelling lyrics and distinctive voice, Bree firmly and comfortably take’s hold of your heart and runs away with it, by captivating you with her own unique sound. 

Her music has received Triple J radio airplay, and the young singer-songwriter has proven her chops by taking out first place in the 2021 International Songwriting Competition (ISC), which saw Cold Play and Hozier, declare her the winner of the teen category for her song ‘goodbye’.

Bree lives and breathes her art, with an open and honest account of the emotional landscape, its integrity embedded in her very pure acoustic-driven melodies, which has seen her garner praise for bringing awareness to mental health for her song, ‘Drift’, and honourable mention in the Nashville UNSIGNED-ONLY.

Bree is also making a name on the live stage in 2022, supporting John Butler at the Lighthouse Festival. 

‘Dotted Lines’ is a delight of a finger-picked acoustic melody, produced by Garrett Kato, the producer behind some of the most prominent sounds coming out of Byron Bay, including Julia Stone, Tones and I and Riley Pearce.
