Jamie Lynn Spears opened up about her relationship with her sister and her understanding of the conservatorship.
The sister of one of the most famous pop stars of all time appeared on Good Morning America for a TV interview to discuss her sister’s conservatorship for the first time.
The Zoey 101 star has shed light on a serious misconception about her role in Britney’s 13-year-long court-ordered conservatorship.
“When (the conservatorship) was put into place, I was (a) 17-year-old, I was about to have a baby,” Jamie Lynn told Juju Chang.
“I didn’t understand what was happening nor was I focused on that.
“I understand just as little about it then as I do now.
“There was no me overseeing funds or something like that, and if there was (that perception), that was a misunderstanding, but either way I took no steps to be a part of it.”
Jamie Lynn Spears on GMA saying she had no idea what a conservatorship was at 17 when Britney was put in it. She’s now 30 and said she still doesn’t know what it is. Girl in all that time you never once googled what happened to your sister???? 🧐

We can’t wait to see how Britney slaps back after only recently unfollowing her sister on Instagram.
Jamie Lynn went on and the interview became quite emotional.
“I’ve always been my sister’s biggest supporter,” Jamie Lynn said.
“So, when she needed help, I set up ways to do so, went out of my way to make sure that she had the contacts she needed to possibly go ahead and end this conservatorship and just end this all for our family.
“If it’s going to cause this much discord, why continue it?
“I even spoke to her legal team – her previous legal team – and that did not end well in my favour.
“I did take the steps to help. How many times can I take the steps without … She has to walk through the door.”
That may have been a little difficult for the past 13 years considering Britney didn’t get to decide which doors she was walking through.
And in possibly the least surprising turn of events yet, Jamie Lynn used this televised opportunity to plug her new book that goes on to tell the “truth” about her story.
