Amidst the current local election in Ukraine, which has been plagued by fraud, a voter dressed as Chewbacca was arrested by Police in Odessa for illegally campaigning on the election day for candidate Darth Vader and failing to provide identification.

The local police also tweeted a picture of the arrest, with the caption translating to “Nothing unusual here, just Chewbacca detained for being without documents while driving Darth Vader to the elections in Odessa. The Sith Lord has already claimed this was illegal as Chewbacca is his pet and general servant and thus does not require documents.”
Several candidates who legally changed their names to Darth Vader have taken part in the election for the Internet Party, with 16 doing so in last year’s parliamentary vote.
