Thousands gathered, and millions tuned in, for the funeral procession of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place yesterday (September 19). Following a state funeral at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, she was laid to rest beside her late husband, Prince Philip, inside the Royal Vault.

Amid the day’s formalities, there were certainly some unexpected moments that occurred, causing worldwide intrigue. Here is a recap of some of those moments below.

#1 – Why was Sandra Oh there?

Many individuals were shocked to see Sandra Oh show up as a guest to the Queen’s funeral procession, and partake in the Westminster Abbey ceremony. As reported by TODAY, the acclaimed Killing Eve actress had a formal role in the ceremony, “as a member of the Order of Canada, a civilian honor established by Queen Elizabeth in 1967”.

#2 – ‘Royal spider’ spotted on the Queen’s coffin

Speaking of unexpected guests, an uninvited one managed to sneak their way into the procession. A spider was seen resting atop the Queen’s coffin as it was being carried out by Royal officials, and Twitter had an absolute field day with it. #3 – The Queen’s favourite horse, Emma stole the show

Bowing her head among the floral display after a long walk to Her Majesty’s final resting place, Emma, a fell pony who was reportedly the Queen’s favourite to ride, appeared somber as she bid farewell to her loving owner.
