Tom Hardy wins a legit martial arts contest

Venom actor, Tom Hardy has won a real-life martial arts contest in Milton Keynes. Displaying the intense focus he is known for, Hardy won the hearts of spectators and fans at the event.

Tom Hardy blew everyone’s minds this week when he competed in a real-life, high-level Jiu-Jitsu competition and won.

Donning his blue belt, Hardy entered the 2022 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Open Championship, held at Oakgrove School in Milton Keynes, on Saturday (September 17). Not quite at the black belt level yet, but nailing his category all the same!

The martial arts event was organised by Ultimate Martial Arts Championships. Hardy reportedly kept his participation in the tournament on the down low. As reported by the Daily Mail, event sponsor, Sean Rosborough, stated the following: “We found out he was coming probably a couple of weeks before. He was brilliant. A lot of people were asking for photos, and coming up to him, and he had no problem with that at all. The mums were all over him. It didn’t bother him.”

Officially entering the comp as Edward Tom Hardy, he went on to impress the crowds by emerging as the outright winner in his blue belt league. Hardy’s opponent said after the match, “the intensity that he brought to his movie roles, he brought that. He didn’t say a word, he didn’t say anything,”

A spokesman for the sporting event told the Milton Keynes Citizen“Tom was a really nice guy. Everyone recognised him but he was very humble and was happy to take time out for people to take photographs with him. It was a real pleasure to have him compete at our event.”

Learning basic martial arts during 2011’s Warrior, where he played a marine-turned-fighter, the actor has also trained in mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing.
