With the first listen you’re left oddly intrigued, second listen… thoroughly impressed. Although its easy to think “Oh yeah, here’s another young Australian up and coming electronic producer”, there’s something very special and unique about the tunes Sydney boy Elbee is releasing.
There’s a captivating edgy, dark element underlying his songs that is often borderline eerie, yet still enriched with this experimental soul. Elbee’s songs could quite easily be the best thing to kick off a festival at sundown and take you into the night.
Although some tracks definitely have elements of the popular electronic, cosmically layered, R’n’B vibes that are prevalent amongst Australian producers, Elbee has added some much needed attitude and the finished concoction is deliciously refreshing. He’s recently had one of his latest tracks, Boxing featured on FBi’s recent Music Open Day podcast. Boxing has this dark tropical vibe that gives the feeling of a native electronic ritual, it’s definitely something new to check out.
