Elton John announces final ever Australian tour

Anyone who has ever been to an Elton John show knows it is an unforgettable night of colours and singalongs. Though now, after more than half a decade in the biz, the 71-year-old music legend has decided to call it quits from live shows via a live stream, and while we’re excited about an Australian tour, it is bittersweet.

The pop superstar isn’t going quietly, however, claiming this tour will be “the most produced and fantastic show I’ve ever done! I want to go out with a bang…”

Pop music icon Elton John has announced his last ever Australian shows over the weekend and hearts are breaking everywhere!

The tour will begin at Perth’s HBF Park, 48 years after his first ever Australian performance in the same city.  These 15 shows between December 2019 and February 2020 will be more than worth the $$, with the veteran performer’s stage presence and showmanship being beyond incredible even before adding all the lights and colours!

Regardless of how much the icon will be missed across stages, it is beyond doubt that he has had a sensational career, and the hits will live on. We can only be happy for him as he shares “After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”

Tickets go on sale through Ticketek and Ticketmaster from February 14 at 9am for capital cities and February 15 for all other shows. The full list of tour dates are available at the artist’s website.
