Australian RnPop singer IRFXXN (pronounced IRFAAN) has mastered the art of the hook-friendly verse. Primed for the floor, at its core, ‘Latest Song’ is a pulsing, melodic dance beat of pure and honest intent and an instant mood lifter.
Recently signing to Sydney label Sheph Division, this is the first taste of an artist who is destined for big things. In what has been a rapid rise, IRFXXN teased fans with just a small extract of his debut single ‘Latest Song’ on TikTok which has to date amassed over 1 million views and counting. It is clear that his fan base is hungry for more.
IRFXXN leans into the elegance of his vocals, and is less concerned with selling himself and more with authentically being himself. Which makes for a refreshing and soul enrichening listen. His emotional vulnerability draws the listener in, as he sings with a passionate exaltation that pangs the heart with empathy – reminding us of our own past experiences in relationships where honest communication fell on deaf ears.

“This song from beginning to end was a whole creative unleash. Everything from the lyrics to the drums was a “do as you wish and be free to express”. Be raw, be vocal, be honest. There was no room for timidness, unease or worry. All about being who we are and expressing our sound in a creative and relatable way.” IRFXXN
His lyrics reflect a comfortable and self-contented tone, born from years of coming to terms with his passion for a music career which was inherently at odds with his traditional Muslim, Fijian-Indian upbringing and values. His love for music can be traced back to childhood when he would try to mimic his brother’s vocal modulation as he recited religious prayers.
“Performing music in public always came with a whole heap of added baggage, I constantly thought about what my family would think if they found out or how it would impact the way they see me but you realise soon enough that you are not made to please everyone, make yourself happy and if the people around you really love you, they’ll be happy for you.
The SONG is about someone who is conflicted about what he should do. He’s someone who knows his worth but is unwilling to let go of the potential he sees in the relationship he’s trying to create.”
Responding to the viral explosion of Lastest Song on TikTok, Sydney creative’s SkyLake Media (Manu Crooks, Billymaree, Young Lipz) filmed the decadent video in Eastern Creek, Sydney.
The music video was created from the comments and response to his viral TikTok moment. IRFXXN’ shares that “Initially when we created the song we put up a small snippet on TikTok that went viral and brought in a lot of new listeners. The general consensus of what my fans were saying was “this is my new late night drive jam” We saw it and ran with what the audience wanted to see. Nice car, nice view and great shots.”
