The news of her passing has prompted a wave of public mourning across the UK, with well-wishers laying flowers at the bridge leading to Balmoral, and crowds have continued to grow significantly outside Buckingham Palace.

Tributes are continuing to pour in from over the World.

Her son King Charles III has released a statement: Sharing that the death of his beloved mother was a “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her loss would be “deeply felt” around the world.

“We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother. I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

The new King will now lead the country in mourning accompanied by his wife Camilla who will become Queen Consort. Speaking to the times ahead, he said “he and his family would be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held”.

Buckingham Palace has also issued: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

The Church of England has said church bells are expected to be tolled across England. Bells are expected to toll for one hour from noon.
