Stephen King shares his favourite binge worthy TV show

Stephen King celebrates his 75th birthday in true style, feet up, remote in hand, sending a shout-out to his current favourite tv show.

King is no stranger to binge-watching a good show, having already sung the praises for Stranger Things earlier this year, he also hasn’t been shy in naming the only movie he has ever walked out on.

2022 has also seen the King of Horror give a shout-out to Yellowjackets, Severance in which he named the “coolest, loopiest” show of the spring; and dubbed Shining Girls as being “exactly what streaming is made for;” and just a few weeks ago, he hailed the work done on Black Bird.

But BEST is what were are after, and at this current moment in time, it seems that a limited series has caught his attention. Taking to his preferred social media platform, Twitter, King shared:  FIVE DAYS AT MEMORIAL (Apple+) is the best-limited series I’ve seen this year. Heartbreaking. All episodes are now streaming.

Five Days At Memorial premiered on Apple TV+ in August, with the finale airing last Friday. Relishing the limited series, King was quick to jump on the socials and deliver his verdict.

Adapted by the book of the same name (Sheri Fink), Five Days At Memorial is set during the devastating Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana back in 2005. The deeply harrowing, highly binge-able series follows the events that took place in the Memorial Medical Center as thousands of people were trapped without power – forcing doctors and administrators to make difficult and highly dangerous decisions. An eye-opener to say the least.

The show has a tight cast, including Vera Farmiga, Julie Ann Emery, Cherry Jones, Robert Pine, Cornelius Smith Jr., Adepero Aduye, W. Earl Brown, and Michael Gaston.
