Fleetwood Mac announce 2019 Australian tour with some new faces

Fleetwood Mac have announced that they will be touring Australia in 2019 throughout August and September. The tour will begin on the west coast starting in Perth, followed by a chain of shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

It will be the first time the band has appeared in Australia since 2015, only this time without former guitarist Lindsay Buckingham. Last year, he was fired after a disagreement over a US tour.

Fleetwood Mac have announced a 2019 Australia Tour without former guitarist Lindsay Buckingham and with two new members; Neil Finn and Mike Campbell.

The 2019 Australia tour will be the first batch of performances which will include the two new additions to the band: The Heartbreakers’ lead guitarist, Mike Campbell and Crowded House frontman, Neil Finn.

It’s no secret that Fleetwood Mac have had their fair share of both temporary and long-standing artists attributed to the collective, however Mick Fleetwood seems to think that the two new additions will bring something new and refreshing to the live performance.

“We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realise that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.”

Tickets for Sydney and Perth will be available on 25th January at midday local times. Melbourne and Brisbane will go on sale at 1pm the same day.
