EA to roll out a massive roster of games in the face of COVID-19

EA—the company behind the world’s leading sports games franchises—is still planning to roll out some blockbusters this year, despite being hampered by the coronavirus pandemic.

The action-racing game Burnout Paradise Remastered and the real-time strategy title Command & Conquer Remastered are set for imminent release, with new editions of classic sports franchises like FIFA 21, Madden NFL 21 and NHL 21 to follow. EA NFL 21

Greetings, sports fans. Even though production has been hampered this year due to COVID 19, EA still has an exciting list of releases to show the world throughout the year.

On their just-released Q4 2020 Financial Year results report, the company outlined some of the factors that have put the brakes on production in recent times:

Continued disruptions, postponements or cancellations of sports seasons and sporting events around which the Company seeks to launch games and provide live services; worsening economic conditions that negatively impact discretionary consumer spending and consumer demand.

These external pressures, coupled with the realities of working from home, meant that it could have been a rocky ride for the rest of the year. Yet, alongside the aforementioned publicly announced titles, the report suggests that there could be even more to come:

We expect to announce additional title releases in FY21 over the coming months, including an unannounced EA SPORTS title, an additional EA HD title, four EA Partners titles and two mobile soft-launches.”

All the more reason to stay tuned at the EA website for more updates.
