Spitfire Audio has launched Drumline, the latest in the Originals series

The latest addition to Spitfire Audio’s Originals sample library series is Drumline. A supremely recorded, world champion drum corps is now at your fingertips.

Spitifire Audio’s Originals series gives composers a set of scoring tools from very specific and unconventional sources. Their latest release, Drumline, is a marching band library, sampled from the world champion drum corps, the Blue Devils.

Featuring snares, tenor drums, bass drums and cymbals, this crisp and dynamic sample library is just the ticket for your next militaristic action cue.

Spitfire Audio Drumline

This library was recorded by Russell Emanuel on the Newman Stage at 20th Century Fox. This studio has an enviable acoustic profile, and offers up unmatched detail for capturing the nuances of percussion.

For a variation of depth, there are three microphone position available. Close is a blend of spot and closely positioned overhead mics for maximum crispness, while Room is a blend of Decca Tree, outriggers and an ambient array, to reflect what Spitfire calls “the spirit of the stadium“. Hyped is the original position, processed with EQ and compression.

With a percussion ensemble, articulation and dynamics are integral. So alongside single hits on the snare, tenor and bass drums, there are also brilliantly performed rolls and swells on various drums and cymbals.

The interface is in keeping with Spitfire’s spartan aesthetic — completely uncluttered and easy to navigate. Drumline is NKS compatible but also functions as an AU, VST 2, VST 3 and AAX standalone plugin.
