‘Stranger Things’ caused Netflix to crash

Stranger Things released volume 2 of the latest season and the release day blew up the platform so much that Netflix crashed worldwide.

Netflix definitely knew what they were doing when it came to building hype for Stranger Things season 4.

Season 4 of Stranger Things was broken up into two parts with the last two feature-length episodes being released on July 1.

It was in the very wee hours of the morning on Friday that Netflix probably realised they were too good at marketing when the platform almost completely shut down.

Variety reported that Downdetector recorded almost 13,000 user outages within an hour and ‘Netflix down’ started to trend on Twitter.

Apparently, Netflix managed to get things up and running within half an hour but some commentaries on Downdetector say they weren’t able to access the site for 12 hours or longer.

If you still haven’t had a chance to watch the end of season 4, you better get on it quick before the internet spoils everything for you!

It was a sweet feeling of camaraderie over the weekend knowing that just about everyone was watching the same thing with all the biggest stars tweeting about their viewing experience.

Aussie legend Ben Lee posted a couple of fantastic pics of him with Stranger Things star and Hollywood icon Winona Ryder to try “earn cred” with his kid who had been watching the show.
