Weed makes sex better, according to this study

If you’re 18–30 and looking to spice up your sex life, studies show that weed might be the aphrodisiac you’ve been missing out on.

When it comes to weed and booze, it’s commonly known that the younger population are among the highest consumers. And since the start of the pandemic, young Aussies have been smoking more weed than ever before. So if you’ve been looking for more reasons to keep blazing up, here’s another one.

Over the past few years, an increasing number of researchers have tried to get to the bottom of the age-old debate on whether or not Cannabis consumption actually makes sex any better. Now, researchers in Spain are saying with full confidence that it does.

According to a recent study conducted on 274 people aged 18 to 30, “sexual function in young people who use cannabis and alcohol more frequently was shown to be better than in those who do not use either, highlighting the need for more information aimed at the young population.”

Participants in the study included a mix of both weed and non-weed smokers. As published in the academic journal Healthcare, data collected from questionnaire forms revealed that “the total score in the sexual function and arousal subscales were higher among severe cannabis consumers compared to non-consumers.”

In addition to the many other health benefits associated with Cannabis, it seems we can now add better sex to the list as well.

When it comes to Cannabis legalisation in Australia though, we’re still lagging far behind many other parts of the world. However, will the prospect of better sex and bigger orgasms finally be enough to sway the legislators of the Australian Government?

We know it’s a long shot, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.
