198 Clubs around NSW are giving away free beers today… if you’re vaccinated

Almost two hundred clubs around New South Wales are giving out free beer for fully vaccinated patrons today.

The one-day-only offer, dubbed Your Local Club Freedom Day, is taking place today until the kegs run dry as a way to thank patrons for getting the jab. Free beer, for real.

Named the Together Ale, the beer was brewed especially for the occasion by Marrickville based craft brewer Batch Brewing Co alongside Lion’s Malt Shovel Brewers.

Each eligible customer is entitled to one free Together Ale while stocks last. To redeem the beer, you can either register for it in advance via the Your Local Club Freedom Day website, or simply scan the QR code at the venue.

The initiative is the brainchild of NSW Clubs CEO, Josh Landis, and co-founder of Batch Brewing Co, Andrew Fineran.

“We wanted to make sure that we never have to endure another COVID-19 lockdown again,” Landis said, talking to Pedestrian TV.

“To do that, we needed everyone to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated – and we figured offering people a free beer at their local club was a great incentive!”

“To have hit our state’s vaccination targets so quickly is fantastic and we’re excited to reward those who got the jab with an ice-cold schooner,” Landis added.

There are 198 clubs across the state taking part in the program, including inner-city locations like Marrickville Golf Club, City Tattersalls Club, Club York, and Petersham RSL Club, as well as clubs around the state in places like Wagga Wagga, Yamba, Gosford, Newcastle, Dubbo, Penrith, Port Macquarie, and Broken Hill.

You can find the full list of participating clubs here.

The initiative comes after NSW hit the impressive 90 per cent fully vaccinated milestone on Tuesday and removed a large portion of their restrictions on Monday.
