Friendly Fires share iridescent new single and announce first album in 8 years

It has been eight years since their last record and British indie-rock group Friendly Fires have just announced they will be releasing their third album titled Inflorescent. The LP will be out on August 16 and they’ve even given fans a taste of what’s to come.

The album will include their already released tracks Love Like Waves and Heaven Let Me In (co-produced by Disclosure).

Inflorescent from Friendly Fires is a shimmery ode to summer and features production from big names such as Disclosure, Mark Ralph and James Ford.

In a statement, the band said that the album was inspired “by experiencing the here and now, by hanging out and dancing in clubs together as a trio again.”

“It’s very much about living in the present; about not being afraid, seizing the moment, casting aside doubts and pursuing the things you love.”

Alongside this announcement, the English rockers have released Silhouettes, a spacey, textured track that highlights lead singer Ed McFarlane’s vibrant vocals in a synthy revitalisation.

In a vortex of unstoppable energy and re-ignition, the band will also be returning to Australia for a string of shows as part of their Splendour in the Grass tour. Check out the groovy track and tour details below:
