Genshin 2.3: what you can expect in the upcoming update

Genshin Impact‘s latest update is going live tomorrow, and a bunch of changes are inbound. Here’s what you can expect.

Tis the season for another Genshin Impact update. The new 2.3 update will bring with it the long-anticipated Albedo and Eula rerun banners, along with the Arataki Itto and Gorou banner, with the former going live after the pre-patch maintenance and the latter coming to the game at a later date.

“To ensure all Travelers have the best-possible Genshin Impact experience, our developers will soon begin performing update maintenance. After this is complete, the game will update to a new version”, says Mihoyo. The maintenance will begin on Wednesday 24th November at 9am AEDT and will last for five hours. Mihoyo has also advised players to download the update files via WiFi due to their large size.

Accompanying the Albedo and Eula banner is, fittingly enough, the Snow Camp. Players who brave the chilly depths of Dragonspine to participate in the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event will earn a variety of rewards, including the Event-exclusive 4-star Sword, the Cinnabar Spindle. Albedo and Eula will also feature in the event story, which is based off the premise of a winter training camp held by the Adventurer’s Guild.

Following after the rerun banners is the highly anticipated Arataki Itto and Gorou banner. As a 5-star Geo Claymore user, Arataki Itto uses heavy hitting attacks, building up stacks of the Superlative Superstrength buff via his Normal attacks in order to unleash an empowered Arataki Kesagiri that decimates his opponents.

His Elemental Burst, Royal Descent: Behold, Itto the Evil, is somewhat similar to Xiao’s, converting his Normal, Charged, and Plunge attacks into Geo damage. Itto’s Elemental and Physical resistances will drop, as his Attack increases based on his Defence. His Normal Attack Speed will also increase.

Gorou is a new 4-star character who will be debuting alongside Itto. Functioning primarily as a support type character, Gorou shines in Geo-oriented teams. The more Geo characters in your party, the more buffs he provides. His utility passive is also extremely useful, allowing players to easily locate Inazuma-exclusive resources on the map.

While these banners may be tempting, players may also want to take into consideration the two new characters that were teased recently. While there is no confirmed or even an estimated release date for Yun Jin and Shenhe, it is never too early to start saving up those Primogems.
