‘Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy’ track listing released, with some notable omissions

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy packages together three iconic video games, which also happen to possess three incredibly well curated soundtracks. We have the full list of tracks below – although there are a number of glaring omissions.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy releases November 11, 2021, and it isn’t coming quietly. In what Rockstar refers to as “the definitive edition” of the trilogy of games that arguably defined them as a studio, there is an enormous amount of quality content to revisit (or explore, if you are coming in green).

An integral part of which are some amazingly curated radio stations which combine to create one the greatest video game soundtracks of all time. So while improved graphics and tweaked performance are likely what will bring players to purchase Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, it’s the music that will hit players right in their nostalgia zone.

And while it appears there are a number of omissions when compared to the original games’ soundtracks, there is more than enough top quality music to get excited about.

So to get everybody in the mood before the collection releases, here are the tracks we are most looking forward to joyriding to.

Grand Theft Auto III

As the earliest instalment of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy package, GTA 3 doesn’t have as deep a catalogue of music as the games that came after it. That said, it still contains plenty of great tracks that most video games would be extremely jealous of.

And let’s be real, can you really beat Kool and the Gang?

Well if I was trying to, and planned on keeping a straight face, I’d have to do a complete 180-degree turn.

Which leads us to Debbie Harry’s Rush Rush – cop that and remember the good times.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Vice City is my jam. It’s the first game in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy collection that I played, and a wonderful sense of sun and fun permeates its world of neon lights, sea breeze, and crime.

It’s also where I was first exposed to the delightfully corny treasure trove of music that is the 1980s.

That’s what I’m talking about – pure drama, baby. And yes, in an embarrassing aside, my favourite radio station in the game was Emotion 98.3. However, heartbreak wasn’t the only feeling I was interested in exploring as I drove through the colourful streets of faux Miami.

There was also this masterpiece of vibe:

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

San Andreas is probably the most anticipated game included in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy. It has a more contemporary edge, and consequently is full of some of the hottest hip-hop to ever grace a turntable.

The game has strong ’90s vibes, which pretty much guarantees a great cruising soundtrack.

But cruising isn’t the only thing you’ll be doing in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy; crime, violence, and attempted punishment is all part of the equation. And when you need adrenaline to kick in, you can always rely on that bassline:
