Happy Presents: The Shang at Vic On The Park, Sydney

Motley crews The Shang and Rum Jungle are storming Sydney’s Vic On The Park on December 3rd for a night of groove and havoc.

Can you hear that? The sound of amps crackling? Schooners clinking? Cymbals ringing? Those rugged melodies? The Shang must be back in town.

The Camden-raised rock outfit, hot off the back of a Pacific Avenue support, are here to bring a touch of rock to Sydney’s beloved Vic On The Park this December. Following Sydney’s second lockdown, a little rock and roll sounds like just the ticket.

The Shang

Marrickville’s Vic On The Park has something for everybody. Solid pub feeds, an impressive range of on-tap beers, and a huge outdoor area for chats and basketball. Not to mention the raised, red carpet stage for maximum performance visibility.

Even better than all this? The show is entirely free, so don’t even worry about snatching tickets. However, we would recommend getting there early so you don’t miss out on the music.

The Shang built their followings from the ground up, grinding away gigs in the hometown of Camden with potent rock singalongs. Today, the boys are mainstays in the Sydney and greater western live music scene, known for their on-stage energy and explosive choruses. Following their second EP, Tales of the Wild South West, they’ve released two singles, including the hip-hop inspired All For Show. Definitely keep an ear out for the new material while you’re at the Vic. You’ll know it when you hear it.

On support is Rum Jungle. They’re longtime mates of The Shang and are absolute weapons on their instruments. If you’re a fan of reggae and rock, these guys will have you in a trance in no time.
