With only a limited number of new Xbox Series X games on the horizon, we explore all the Xbox One games that have received free Xbox Series X upgrades (or that are going to).

Xbox Series X upgrades have been breathing new life into some of the most cherished titles of yesteryear. The fact that they can generally be had for free is a massive bonus. If you combine this feature with Xbox’s Game Pass subscription service, the number of newly gorgeous titles at a negligible price is astonishing.

The process for gaining these free upgrades has never been more simple, simply because there isn’t even really a process. Microsoft’s Xbox team have taken to calling their new system Xbox Smart Delivery; which basically should be called Xbox Series X upgrader (updater?) because that’s exactly what it does.

If your Xbox uses its Smart Delivery system correctly you shouldn’t even notice it. However, this list could still be useful in a number of ways; be it deciding which game you want to replay next, or even if you notice a Xbox One title that’s on sale, and want to see if you can morph it into a Series X title later down the road. The possibilities are endless.

It should be noted that the titles below are all upgrades, meaning that performance on the Series X will be better than on the Xbox One. It has been made very explicit that all Xbox One games will work on the Series X. Therefore, if you don’t see the game you want to play on the lists below, don’t fret too much, you’ll still be able to play it on your new console. It just won’t look as great as it otherwise might.

So without further pause, here is the full list of currently available, and upcoming, Xbox One games that are ripe for a replay. We will also do our best to list what specific improvements are associated with each title.
