Introducing the modern soul sounds of Isabelle Brown

When listening to Isabelle Brown‘s modern twist on old school soul for the first time it is almost impossible to believe that deep, raspy soulful voice is coming from a 15-year-old.

An old soul trapped inside the body of a teenager; UK teenager Isabelle Brown blends old-school soul with modern R&B to deliver a message of positivity, friendship and honesty.

Isabelle Brown isn’t your typical teenager. At just 15 years old she has already released a mixtape, and her latest video for Places give us everything we could hope for from the young star-in-waiting.

The intimate video was shot mainly on an iPhone at her dad’s 50th birthday party and is a window into the young artist’s world. If you can’t believe the voice below is coming from a 15-year-old, you’re not alone.

Isabelle offers some insight into her inspiration behind the track:

“’Places’ is about a place you can go where you don’t have to pretend to be something you’re not.”

The young artist is refreshingly positive and real, something that is rare in today’s world. With a voice like honey nougat and an uplifting yet chill soul/RnB/hip-hop blend it’s obvious the teenager is going places.

Isabelle has been writing since the age of seven and spending weekends and school holidays recording and performing, showing an incredible drive and creativity. She has very close relationships with her family and friends, who she trusts with protecting herself from her own ambition.

Her first mixtape was largely recorded at age 12 and the up-and-comer is showing no signs of slowing down. With already extremely mature perspectives for her age, we can’t wait to hear how her sound grows.
