Juice Wrld has died, aged 21

The SoundCloud rapper who came to prominence with his mega-hit Lucid Dreams suffered a seizure today before dying in hospital.

Rapper Juice Wrld has died, aged 21.

The Lucid Dreams rapper suffered a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport before being rushed to hospital. The actual cause of death is still unknown.

The rap world has been shocked by Juice Wrld’s sudden death, with an outcry of tributes and homages flooding in from the likes of the Weeknd, Chance the Rapper, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more.

Chance the Rapper stated, “Dude. This is ridiculous. Millions of people, not just in Chicago but around the world are hurting because of this and don’t know what to make of it.” Drake also commented on the death in an Instagram post, “I would like to see all the younger talent live longer and I hate waking up hearing another story filled with blessings was cut short.”

The rapper’s death at such a young age is reminiscent of other SoundCloud rappers Lil Peep and XXXTentacion. In a tribute song to the other two rappers, who also died at a young age, Juice Wrld mentioned not making it past the age of 21. “What’s the 27 Club? We ain’t making it past 21, I been going through paranoia, so I always gotta keep a gun,” he raps on his song Legends.

The rapper came to prominence in 2017 with his mega-hit Lucid Dreams. The song reached a peak of number 2 on the Billboard Hot100, leading to massive explosion in Juice Wrld’s popularity.

His final concerts took place in Australia only last month as a part of the Spilt Milk lineup. The last of which occurred in Ballarat on November 30th where he also debuted an unreleased song called, Sitting Duck. You can see footage of the Spilt Milk show below:

With more tributes bound to flood in, the rap world has lost yet another young talent.
