Jacinda Ardern asked to give Kanye West advice on US presidential run

Infamous for his wild and outlandish politics, Kanye West has caught the attention of praised New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, after news circulated of the singer’s plans to infiltrate the 2020 US presidential election.

When Kanye wants a headline, he gets a headline. Overnight, Mr West has been making moves after the singer spilt the beans on Twitter that he is throwing his hat in the ring for the upcoming 2020 US presidential election, garnering full support from a friend, meme, and visionary Elon Musk.

Kanye, harnessing the cookery that is 2020, swiftly broke the Twitter-sphere, making the famed rapper, producer and designer the topic of New Zealand question time yesterday, sparking a giggly Jacinda Ardern to offer advice to the Jesus Walks singer.

A glowing Ardern confessed that she “can’t say […] any advice for Kanye West for running for the American presidency,” after the rapper announced his intention for a place in the Oval Office, saying that she doesn’t “have any inside information” for the singer.

Kanye announced his presidential bid just this weekend, after declaring last year he would “walk” not run to the electoral office delaying #Kanye2020 until 2024. But the rapper has instead decided to completely backflip declaring it time to “realise the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future” on Twitter.

All this political squabble comes amidst massive advancements for Kanye’s Yeezy apparel line that has seen the singer enter himself into the world of designer fashion, and now, not-so-designer fashion.

You may have heard last week that Kanye announced Yeezy was teaming up for a major collab with the less than boujee clothing company Gap, showing off the new logo on Twitter with the #WESTDAYEVER hashtag.

Now, news has come out Kanye has filed the papers to trademark the genius “West Day Ever” slogan used in his promotion, with rumours circulating he will use it in his political campaigning.

Kanye ALSO made the headlines this morning, having reportedly taken out a $2 million USD government assistance loan for Yeezy. The man did this during the trying times of an actual global pandemic, with billion-dollar wifey Kimmy K by his side.

While Kanye managed to meet the application deadline for his government PPP loan, the same can’t be said regarding his 2020 presidential campaign. Despite his public proclamation, Kanye hasn’t actually filed the necessary paperwork required to seek a run for the Oval Office.

Maybe Kanye should just stick to what he’s good at: tunes and trainers.
