Lenka Performs ‘Ivory Tower’ Live at Enmore

PRESENTED BY

The multi-dimensional artist Lenka recently visited the Live at Enmore studios. She brought with her co-writer and producer, Dave Jenkins Jr. of Not A Boys Name, and a brand new single, Ivory Tower

Imaginatively tweaked for the live setting, Jenkins was on bass and drum machine, while Lenka rocked the keytar.

The rich synth pads and grooves, however, all-played second fiddle to Lenka’s incredible voice, which carried a melody that you won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

Ivory Tower was Mixed and Recorded by Dan Shaw, Radi Safi, and Owen Penglis

After forging Ivory Tower together in the studio, this duo was effortlessly in the pocket and had no problem creating a rich and evolving soundscape.

Here’s what Lenka had to say about the Ivory Tower before hitting record:

“It was inspired by Ivanka Trump… that kind of archetype of the ‘Princess in the Tower’ that’s actually really horrible.”

With a dramatic, dynamic vocal performance from Lenka, we were keen to use a condenser mic that would capture the sensitivity of the performance. The versatile AT4050 met the challenge.
