Machine Age’s new single Dust is an upbeat reflection on the impact of social media

For the past number of years, Brisbane duo Machine Age have been altering their sound, never letting it sit in one place for too long. They flip seamlessly between electronica and rock, leaving audiences always unsure of what they’ll deliver next.

Now, with the release of their new single Dust, they’ve refined their sound into something dynamic and focused. If you listen to one thing today, make it this new track.

On their incredible new single Dust, Brisbane electro-rock duo Machine Age provide an upbeat reflection on a bleak topic.

Throughout the new track, Machine Age blast through thunderous electronic beats, flailing synth lines, and soaring vocal hooks to craft something that feels simultaneously reckless and well thought-out.

Our latest track Dust is an upbeat ode to the bleak new world we live in,” says band member Adrian Mauro.

How social media with all its promise of Likes, love and connection really doesn’t mean anything when you’ve lost a loved one or are doing it tough in the real world.

With their concoction of rock and electronica, Machine Age perfectly capture this conflict between technology and human authenticity. Once you enter into this sprawling sonic soundscape, you’ll be left completely mesmerised by the insanity taking place around you.

In support of the new single, Machine Age will be hitting the road this April for a run of huge live shows. Grab all details below:

Saturday, April 20th – Bearded Lady, Brisbane, QLD
Friday, April 26th April – Gaso Upstairs, Melbourne, VIC

But for now, do yourself a favour and listen to Dust above.
