There’s been a unusual amount of activity in the My Bloody Valentine camp as of late.
Just a few weeks back, a bio on a festival website for Kevin Shields revealed he is busy working on a new album, and that all-analog pressings of their seminal shoegaze masterpiece Loveless and their debut Isn’t Anything were on their way.
My Bloody Valentine have announced all-analog reissues of Loveless and Isn’t Anything, created from the original session tapes.
Then, just this week, new T-shirts popped up on the MBV website, with what fans have been speculating may be a new album title.
Now, said reissues of Loveless and Isn’t Anything have also been announced by the band via Facebook.
Published on their page on Friday, the announcement reads: “Available for the first time, fully analog mastered 180gram vinyl versions of Loveless and Isn’t Anything – in tip-on style gatefold sleeve, created from original 1/2″ and 1/4″ tapes.”
They’ll be available from early 2018, either as standalone 12-inch releases, or in bundles. You can pre-order your copy now.
For those waiting for new My Bloody Valentine material, according to the festival blurb, an“album [is] to be released in 2018.” Maybe don’t hold your breath though – it was 22 years between drinks last time around.
