Joe Biden has called Donald Trump’s refusal to concede an “embarrassment” whilst Mike Pompeo believe’s “there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration”.
It’s been four days since it was announced that Joe Biden would be the upcoming 46th President of the United States of America, and Donald Trump is still yet to acknowledge his defeat.
Speaking on Tuesday, Joe Biden labelled the refusal to concede an “embarrassment” but said the former president’s delay would not prevent him from getting to work.
When asked for his thoughts on the anxiety some Americans feel over the president’s refusal to publicly admit defeat, Biden told reporters, “I think it will not help the president’s legacy”.
But the refusal to assist with the transition towards a new US administration seems to have hardly an effect on the Democratic president-elect.
“The fact that they’re not willing to acknowledge we won at this point is not of much consequence in our planning,” Biden said.

Joe Biden said he had recently spoken to a number of world leaders, telling them, “America is back.”
“We’re going to be back in the game. It’s not America alone,” Mr Biden said.
It comes as the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, presented an entirely different picture, asserting that the White House is ready for a second Donald Trump administration: “There will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration”.
Pompeo was asked if the State Department is preparing to begin talks with the Joe Biden transition team and, if not, whether a delay could constitute a risk to national security.
“We’re gonna count all the votes. When the process is completed, they’ll be electors selected. There’s a process, the Constitution lays it out pretty clearly.”
We can only wait and hope the transition of power happens soon for all Americans as the delay on the part of Donald Trump is denying the Joe Biden team access to millions of dollars in federal funding and the opportunity to convene with intelligence agencies and other departments.
