Listen to Oliver Cronin’s energetic new single ‘Hello Goodbye’

“It’s a song that is sonically in this early 00’s alt pop space,” Oliver Cronin said of his latest single Hello Goodbye.

Oliver Cronin has shared the latest taste of his as-yet untitled album, an energetic and dynamic new single titled Hello Goodbye.

Carried by brooding electric production, dark synths and hard-hitting guitars, the uber-catchy pop cut sees the Sydney musician reflect on the complexities of being stuck in a toxic relationship.

“You keep on circling my life,” Cronin sings with an infectious sneer, “oh well, nice try.”

Speaking in a press statement, Cronin — who collaborated with producers Nick and Skimmy on the track — said Hello Goodbye is “a song that is sonically in this early 00’s alt pop space.”

He continued: “We talked about creating something like that track that became a timeless record, and capture the feeling that song gives you.” Through it all, Cronin’s vocals shine, even as the textured production swills into dark-pop revelry.

Hello Goodbye follows the release of previous singles Speed Bump and I Need You, the latter of which featured American rapper Lil Xxel. Last year, Cronin swung by Happy Mag for a live rendition of I Need You — watch that below.

Cronin’s Topic-assisted 1,2,3, meanwhile, arrived in 2023. All tracks are expected to form part of the singer-songwriter’s upcoming, yet-to-be-announced album, the follow-up to his 2022 debut EP Beautiful Nightmare.

The single coincides with a slew of upcoming dates slated for Cronin’s headline Australian tour. The singer will play all-ages shows at Sydney’s Marys Underground (March 7), MIC in Brisbane (March 9) and Melbourne’s The Gasometer (March 17).
