PREMIERE: ’90s garage gets a saltwater injection in Crum’s fierce new jam Temporary

From the Gold Coast, Crum have taken it up to level eleven with their most recent release Temporary. Opening with crashing drums and pulverising guitar, Temporary sets itself up from the beginning as a deftly crafted rock song.

When that garage infused croon comes in with the vocals, it’s hard not to pick their influences. If you’re a fan of Nirvana, I’ll guarantee you’ll find time for Crum.

With tight instrumentation and a firm grip on their lively sound, Crum have once again proved they’re a band with tons to offer.

While they certainly have that ’90s punk rock element to them, there is a salty undertone to their sound which makes them all the more familiar. Lyrically, Temporary holds some pretty sweet reverence, the track being surprisingly romantic and filled with vulnerability.

Not to mention, there’s an infectious melody running throughout and you can’t help but get lost in it.

Temporary is in fact just a taste of what is to come. With a self titled EP in the pipeline we can be sure to expect a lot more from these Queensland boys in the coming months.

They might have only just graduated from mates’ parties and local gigs, but Crum have proved that they’re more than up to the task of absolutely dominating a bigger stage. So far they’ve racked up support slots for Northern Beaches royalty Goons of Doom, as well as Hobo Magic, Los Scallywags and Stone Witches.

Creating a smooth blend of ’90s garage and Californian rock melodies, Crum are without a doubt a band to keep your eye on.
