It was last year, with their string of 2018 singles, that we were introduced to the irresistibly woozy sounds of Groove Lagoon. In an incredibly short amount of time, the Auckland-based outfit established their penchant for crafting deeply addictive slabs of genre-bending brilliance.
Now, having just dropped their latest single, Time & Space, the band further widen their sprawling musical vision. If you’re not already listening to this band, we strongly recommend you change that.
Auckland-based outfit Groove Lagoon are back with Time & Space; three-and-a-half-minutes of pure, woozy, genre-bending glory.
This new single sees Groove Lagoon weave elements of indie-rock, pop, psychedelia, and reggae, refining their signature sound. The kiwi band craft the kind of music you can completely lose yourself inside of—it envelopes you wholly, oozing over each limb of your body. But once you’re submerged in this wonderful blend of noises, you’ll never want to leave. Groove Lagoon piece together some of the most enjoyably disorientating music making the rounds. This new single is, of course, no different.
As its title would suggest, Time & Space bends all concepts of space and time. Dreamy guitar flourishes and earthy vocal hooks link into one another, creating something completely spell-binding. By the time the track reaches its conclusion, you’ll have been roped in completely by the band’s unique brand of music.
