PREMIERE: Luke Spook’s debut single Isabella is strange, disorientating, and absolutely wonderful

Luke Spook, founding member of the notorious Wollongong gang The Pinheads, has ventured out on his own. Alongside a new band, he has released a mind melting video for their debut track Isabella.

Having spent the past few years exploring his own individual sonic palette, Spook’s latest offering is a psychedelic step away from the raucous garage of The Pinheads.

Isabella, the wild debut track from the marvellous Luke Spook, is an explosion of energy, colour, and insanity. You’re gonna love it.

Reminiscent of ’60s garage and psychobilly, Isabella flaunts a thumping rhythm section, jangly guitars, and Spook’s gloriously disorientating vocals.

Shot on Spook’s local turf on the south coast, the track’s accompanying video is brimming with colourful insanity. Through it, you’ll see Spook and the gang frolicking around in the grass, while psychedelic imagery and flashes of horses playing drums distort the peaceful scene.

Isabella is the first taste from Luke Spook’s debut EP Waking Up/Feeling Bad, due out July 4th through Third Eye Stimuli Records.

Do yourself a favour and watch the new clip above, and make sure you catch Luke Spook live at The Grace Darling, Fitzroy on July 13 with Tropical Strength, Babey, and No Local. More info over at the Facebook event.
