PREMIERE: Port Royal save rock on their crunchy new single Rock & Roll Is Dead

For reasons unknown, the Australian music scene has lately found itself inhabited by a whole bunch of pretentious fools who reckon good ol’ fashion rock ‘n’ roll is dead. This one’s for them.

Brisbane-based kings of no-bullshit rock ‘n’ roll, Port Royal, are back with another crunching single, taking aim at the cynical haters who hold this ridiculous belief.

Is rock ‘n’ roll dead? No, is the short answer. And on their newest single, Brisbane’s Port Royal are here to prove it.

Rock & Roll Is Dead is a tongue-in-cheek anthem, bursting at the seams with thunderous guitar riffs and howling vocals.

Wearing their ’70s rock influences proudly on their collective sleeve, Port Royal’s anthemic choruses are reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, Jet, and The Hives.

And I’ll tell you what… it’s damn refreshing to hear a band take such pride in their genre. Port Royal believe in rock ‘n’ roll, and their enthusiasm oozes into the energy of this latest single.

Since their mid-2015 inception, the four-piece have supported such acts as The Delta Riggs and The Cherry Dolls, while their 2017 single Get Heavy came in at number two in 4ZZZ’s Hot 100 of 2017.

Listen to the new track above, and help Port Royal in their quest to save the great genre of rock ‘n’ roll.
