PREMIERE: Summer is definitely here and so is Shibuya, a certified banger from Rogues

Out of Perth, rockers Rogues have dropped new single Shibuya and it’s the perfect introduction to the fragmented synth pop sound they do so well. It’s the sound of the summer and with big guitar, subtle beats and well articulated production, Shibuya is absolutely killer.

This single comes after the recent release of Double Vision, so it’s fair to say that Rogues are a band who are keeping the ocean in motion when it comes to new music.

Having formed post the bliss-fest that is high school, these boys have been crafting their very own formula of ’80s inspired synth lines and a really eclectic set of global influences.

Coming from what is fast becoming the city of synth, Rogues craft an exciting new addition to the warm weather playlists on Shibuya.

Rogues, as the name suggests, is a mongrel band with its members hailing from all sides of the planet. England, Scotland, Albany and Colombia… it’s safe to say this band is very unlikely to release anything you’ve heard already.

Shibuya is a crisp and bright track, lifted by that throwback synth and made relevant and accessible with well arranged instrumentation to tie it all together. That yearning vocal is smooth as melted butter, but with big sweeping choruses that really allow the track to burst with character and catchy quality.

Fresh, fun and full of energy, we are more than happy that Rogues have lost control of their sense and just gone wild. And if you’re really digging what you hear, fear not for they will be taking to the stage mere weeks from now.

On the 19th of November they’ll be hitting up Four5Nine in Perth, showcasing the new track and a bunch of others alongside legends Black River Ransom, Oh Mare and Soap. If you’re over the Western way we highly suggest you get around this tight little number.
