PREMIERE: Become lost in boundless ambience with The Lone Bureaucrat’s new album Final Reset

Leipzig-based James Holt aka The Lone Bureaucrat has returned with his third full length album Final Reset, to be released through exciting new label Type O Recordings.

Final Reset, the follow up to 2016’s Survival Behind The Curtain, is a sprawling, borderless journey of dark, industrial ambience, leaving you floating without concept of space or time.

It’s a fully-formed release, brimming with an immaculate attention-to-detail. Coming today with the album is a fantastical clip for Oh Dear Times, as well as a suite of magnificent visual work from artist Juliette de Momigny.

The Lone Bureaucrat’s new album Final Reset is a beautiful and unbounded series of soundscapes, taking aim at the ailments of bureaucracy.

The album opens with We’ll Be Here Again, a stunning re-work of Charles Bukowski’s Born Into This, providing a pessimistic prophecy of the future, and a scathing assessment of the present.

“Radiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men,” Bukowski foretells in his dusty southern tone.

Throughout the album, The Lone Bureaucrat sustains this feeling of internal pessimistic dread through boundless soundscapes, affording plenty of space to meditate over the album’s initial statement.

For the track Oh Dear Times, The Lone Bureaucrat has released a magnificent, unique video, blending elements of vintage video games and reality to produce something that feels like Paris, Texas cross-bred with Super Mario circa 1985.

Type O, the label responsible for this latest release, are an exciting group of newcomers with sights set on releasing music from all who wish to.

“The idea behind Type O is as follows; any artist can be featured on the label, we’ll accept any kind of music and there will be no vetting from us – if the artist is happy with their music and wants to share it with the world then we give them a platform,” Holt says of the label.

Final Reset is the first album to be released through the label, and they’re off to a damn good start.
