Prepare to get hooked on Pretty Uglys’ new single Bedroom Socialite

With only a small handful of singles under their belt, Western Australian trio Pretty Uglys haven’t been doing this for very long. Nevertheless, they belt out an infectious brand of surfy garage with an energy that most bands take years to develop.

Now, with the release of their latest track Bedroom Socialite, the three-piece have further solidified their penchant for crafting jangly, lo-fi gems.

On their new single Bedroom Socialite, Western Australian three-piece Pretty Uglys deliver a jangly slice of garage-surf that we guarantee you’ll quickly get hooked on.

Throughout the new track, Pretty Uglys dance through a summery concoction of genres to deliver a sound uniquely their own. With bright, crunching guitars, bone-rattling percussion, and deeply addictive vocal hooks, Bedroom Socialite is the kind of track you’ll have spinning on repeat for weeks.

I wrote the song inspired by the ideas of social situations especially when you find yourself questioning how you come across to others or trying to piece together why you react in certain ways to what people say, or maybe putting pressure on yourself to be the best ‘cool’,” says frontman Jaxon Alp. “I guess long story short it’s social anxiety.”

These are still relatively early days for this WA band, but judging by what we’ve heard so far, I think we can safely expect plenty more quality tunes from Pretty Uglys.

For now, do yourself a favour and listen to the new track above.
