This long weekend is turning out to be a pretty sweet deal, with Monday’s public holiday alongside stacks of new music to get out ears around.

Hedy Lamarr – Walk

Hailing from Sydney’s inner-west, Hedy Lamarr are making their debut in the music scene with a bang, releasing their first song Walk; a frustrated, hard hitting and topical song about women’s safety whilst walking home.

“It’s a celebration of stomping home in your gig boots, music blaring in your ears, wind on your face. The song is a rejection of the notion that women are killed because of recklessness on their part”.

BAYNK – go with u

BAYNK’s tantalising sophomore EP is blissful electronic pop coupled with meaningful lyricism and infectious beats. Someone’s EP II features a number of notable artists such as Glades, Hablot Brown, Sinead Harnett and Martin Luke Brownand. We seriously can’t stop listening.

This week BAYNK dropped a gorgeous visual for go with you, a track from said EP. Check it out below.

Carla Geneve – Self-Titled

Perth’s Carla Geneve is killing the game right now with her captivating live shows, emotive songs and folk-like vocals with a rock twist.

It comes as no surprise to us that her self-titled debut EP is a seamless 30 minutes of blissful storytelling, clever instrumentation and wise lyricism, well beyond her years.

Slum Sociable – Life Is Free

With an up-beat and kinetic energy, Slum Sociable are back with another single entitled Life Is Free. The indie-electro duo have stayed true to their sultry and groovy sound, also announcing an EP L.I.F to be released on the 2nd of August.

We can’t wait to hear more new music from these guys, but for now we’ll keep jamming to this one.

Polish Club – Iguana

Polish Club’s energy-fuelled second album Iguana is bold, sweeping and surprisingly named after a Sydney nightclub in Kings Cross, encapsulating the wild and vivid nightlife of the city’s past.

It’s hard to comprehend how much energy, instrumentation and rock bliss can be conjured by just two guys, but wow we are impressed.

Whitney – Giving Up

In 2016 Whitney made utter romantic devastation sound as sweet as sugar with their debut album Light Upon the Lake, and since then rumours of a follow-up have been spinning all too frequently.

With new single Giving Up they’ve put said rumours to rest, announcing their sophomore album Forever Turned Around. And yes, they sound as pretty as ever.
