It’s been a solid few months since The Bank Hotel in Sydney’s Newtown rejigged its live music room, Waywards. Since then it’s been all systems go, and the room has hosted a variety of Sydney, Australia, and the world’s darn finest acts.
For the rest of the month of February, they’re going extra large. Check out what’s on below.
Time to get your fix – it’s Mardi Gras season and The Bank Hotel in Newtown is turning up the heat. Check out what’s on this February.
This week is a big one, kicking off with Binch City on Wednesday 12th, another showing from local queer party starters Birdcage. Sets from Pablo, Saint Valentine, and more will keep you truckin’ all night.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday are all about the guitars. You’ve got Ultracrush launching their gorgeous new single Leave on Thursday 13th, then The Dead Love’s Sydney headline show on Friday, then a massive Bushfire Benefit featuring Nunchukka Superfly, Totally Unicorn, Grinding Eyes, Los Tones, and heaps more. That last one’s going to be extra large, so grab a ticket or get in early.
Mardi Gras will be in full swing on Sunday 16th, The Bank hosting a Fair Day event with Hymen and Felicity Frockaccino. Expect drag performances, window dancers, and DJs ’til late.
Other highlights include Verge Collection’s Ludlow Hithergreen album tour on Friday 21st, New Zealand’s Miss June hitting Waywards on Friday 28th, and a big Young Henrys x Niche Productions party on the 27th.
February will then close with a glorious double header; an official Mardi Gras Afterparty throughout the venue, plus Egoism and Pinkish Blue’s joint tour hitting the Waywards stage.
