SAE Creative Media Institute is now a designated University College

The eminent SAE institute, renowned for its music courses and alumni, has announced its elevation to University College status.

Australian creative media institute SAE has revealed that it is now a designated University College.

The elevation to college status comes as institute holds six campuses across five Australian states and one transnational campus in Dubai. The college status serves to recognise the quality and scholarship of SAE as a self-accrediting independent provider.

SAE joins an elite group of just six institutes elevated to college status, though it is the only one dedicated to delivering creative media education nationally.

Speaking of the achievement in a press statement, the institute’s CEO Joseph Anthonysz touted the its educational excellence, teaching staff and practical curriculum.

“[SAE] has grown to be one of Australia’s largest independent providers, and, as a University College, is now recognised as one of the best,” Anthonysz said.

“As recognised leaders in creative media education, SAE looks forward to building on these foundations.”

The news is particularly welcome for musicians and artists, since SAE’s music and audio courses are widely considered among the best in the country, led by industry-experienced mentors and emphasising practical hands-on education.

SAE’s music courses have hosted notable alumni like Michael Ashby, producer and head engineer of Cardi B’s Grammy-nominated breakout hit, Bodak Yellow.

Sampa The Great, Pendulum frontman Rob Swire, and hip-hop producer Koh-Dee also studied at SAE.

Alongside music, the institute offers creative courses in animation, creative design, film and gaming, standing as an elite hub for fields often overlooked by other universities.

“We pride ourselves on providing a learning environment where individuals from all backgrounds can explore and develop their creative talents,” SAE manager Dr Luke McMillan said.
