Just weeks before its debut, Secret Valley festival has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.
This isn’t the first case of a festival being cancelled, with Soundwave and many more smaller, boutique festivals recently pulling the plug after ticket sales don’t meet expectations.
The news was first broken through a press release announcing a string of club shows for festival headliner Letterfield, which stated “These performances replace previously announced Melbourne and Sydney winery shows by an alternative promoter which have been cancelled due to circumstances beyond the artist’s control.”
This morning, festival organisers gave the official word on the fate of the festival, confirming the cancellation of the event via Facebook.
The event was set to take place over February 20 and February 21 at the Yarra Valley Estate in Victoria and the Calais Estate in New South Wales.
