Step into the dynamic, boundless world of Octave Inc’s debut self-titled album

Since releasing their first EP back in 2016, Sydney quintet Octave Inc have been crafting incredibly immersive and sprawling jazz tracks that’ll rope you in and leave you hanging on every note.

Now with the release of their debut full-length album, the band have further refined their sound to develop something truly memorable.

On their incredible debut full-length album, Sydney five-piece Octave Inc deliver a captivating and boundless slice of music that you’ll quickly get hooked on.

Made up of saxophonist Michael Slater, guitarist Andrew Jeon, keyboardist Jesse Ngyuen, bassist Mitchell King, and drummer Riccardo Quirke, Octave Inc glide through a unique blend of jazz, pop and rock to deliver a sound that’s uniquely their own.

Throughout the new album, the band navigate a variety of sonic territories to create a boundless brand of music. It pulls in myriad directions, and never sits in one place for too long. The result is a dynamic listening experience that we guarantee you’ll quickly get hooked on.

Although the music is driven by jazzy instrumentation, the hooks and melodies all have strong pop roots. It’s an interesting duality that’s not quite like anything else currently making the rounds.

We wanted the instruments to bleed over, we wanted the improvisation sections to have meaning and we wanted everyone in the band to have the freedom in contributing to the songs,” the band say of the record.

As far as debut albums go, Octave Inc’s self-titled is about as strong as it gets. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait long to hear what they deliver next.
