Sydney Design Festival reveals 10-day program featuring leading industry experts

Whether you plan on attending the Sydney Design Festival to be inspired or just to look at the pretty things is up to you, but this year’s program is one you can’t miss.

This March the festival will host 138 events across 10 days and will showcase the best in all things design. The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences – which is dedicated to excellence and innovation in the field – both produces and curates the festival.

The Sydney Design Festival program for 2019 has just been announced, and features many top design experts from both Australia and across the seas.

Festival organisers have done a lot of the hard work for us in creating 15 itineraries that allow us to get the most out of our festival. These itineraries are all based around specific topics so if you have a theme you want to base your experience around, make sure to check those out on the festival website.

We’ve also picked out a few highlights of the festival to help you on your way.

If you’re interested in the creation of city art, keep an eye out for Places people love: Arts & Built Environment. This will be a panel discussion and cross disciplinary gathering of industry experts.

Wondering where our recycling will go now that China has ceased the intake of Australia’s share? Catch Design in Motion: Sustainable Solutions on 7 March at the Powerhouse Museum to hear potential solutions. This is just one among many events for the environmentally conscious.

If you want to look at some cool stuff, make sure you check out to the Australian Design Centre at some stage across the 10 days. The best in steel art will be on display in Steel: Art Design Architecture.

You can see all events, exhibitions and itineraries at the Sydney Design Festival website.
