Money can’t buy happiness, so take TYA’s advice in their new record No Money, More Love

Emerging from the depths of far North Queensland with an effortless flow of electronic, pop-rock tunes, TYA are made up of four talented friends who aren’t afraid to admit they’ve got a soft side.

Crafting emotional, honest music anthemic to matters of the heart, Sony Sando (guitar/vocals), Casey Shipp (guitar/vocals), Peter Bull (bass) and Reece Prideaux (drums) are the four corners of TYA and have been pumping out bangers since a young age.

Oh, and they’re about to release their own beer. So we’re right into that.

Sensual, ambient and every bit cinematic, TYA’s record No Money, More Love is an instant tear-jerker, evocative of the emotional journey that shaped their individual growth, their sound and an unbreakable connection with their audience.

Having previously played support on tour with Wolfmother, Sheppard, Eskimo Joe, Bluejuice, Ball Park Music, The Jungle Giants, The Belligerents and Birds of Tokyo, the boys headed south in 2016 to embark on a journey of self discovery.

Shaping their sound around their own personal experiences, the last 12 months have allowed TYA to evolve together and as individuals, crafting a new record to reflect itThe five-track EP No Money, More Love is a mixed bag of dreamy guitar tones, floaty vocals, and hooks destined to reverberate through your consciousness forever.

Midnight Drive-Through is the first track from No Money, More Love and it cements the vibe for the rest of the record. The gentle, sensual cut explores the value of friendship and just flows with positive vibes. Space Man takes a dramatic turn, heavy with heart-felt emotion and an undeniable ambience that truly resonates with its title.

Hustle is the third number, one that’s obviously more upbeat and fast paced than the tracks preceding it. Recounting the stories that took place in each of the band members’ lives in 2016, the track explores themes such as drug addiction and self-image, and proudly tells of the band coming out on top.

The five-track masterpiece is nostalgic to Last Dinosaurs, Phoenix and The 1975, with an undeniably strong sense of emotion that triggers a total life reflection.

To celebrate the release of No Money, More Love, TYA have joined forces with Aether Brewing to craft a limited edition beer, ‘Midnight Drive Brew’.  If you’re local to Brissy, join them on November 16th at Aether Brewing to experience some good music, good vibes and great beer on tap.
