The Good Sports – No Sleep Pt. 2

It’s a blend of good old retro energy and electronic pop, with a little bit of garage rock revival of course. The Good Sports were founded in 2012, coming out of East Brisbane, Australia.

As Brisbane’s newest up and comers the The Good Sports are channeling all the indie vibes of Hungary Kids of Hungary and spreading their psychedelic, dreamy music all up and down the East Coast of Australia with their recent shows, playing some of the largest venues in Brisbane and supporting fellow local band Drunk Mums.

This here indie pop band from Brisbane just released a new single called No Sleep Pt. 2 so listen to The Good Sports

They are currently celebrating their third and final single release from their new 6 track album to be released in the very near future, or so we’ve heard. Their latest single No Sleep Pt. 2 follows the group’s previous two single releases Walking and Out of the Way and is definitely channeling a slower and more considered sound than their previous tracks, including Early Riser and Be Your Man from last year, showing their garage influence much more strongly, displaying their diverse vocals and instrumental abilities.

The video for their latest single No Sleep Pt. 2, created by Joe Agius (one half of fellow Brisbane band, The Creases) show cases the groups’ surreal and hallucinatory nature, with the faces of band members: Nash, Jake, Andre, Liam & Lily set into translucent and overlapping sun and moons, close ups of eyes blending into wide screen galaxy shots and some completely crazy dance moves, perfectly suiting their reverbed sound, frenzied guitar solos, layered vocals and their 60’s-esque look, complete with denim jackets, old school baseball shirts and bucket hats.

The Good Sports have recently shared the stage with the likes of Velociraptor, Jeremy Neale and Major Leagues as the supporting act in Brisbane before making their first trip down to Melbourne.
