The Marcus King Band are bringing their blistering Southern blues to Australia next year

He may only be twenty-two, but Marcus King is a musical force to be reckoned with. Coming down to Australia for the first time next April, you can catch The Marcus King Band playing Bluesfest alongside Iggy Pop, Paul Kelly and a sleuth of others.

But, if chance has it that you miss the big festival, you can still catch Marcus and friends at their sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne.

The Marcus King Band are bringing their soulful, psyched-out blues to Australia next year. Prepare yourself for plenty of tasteful solos, horn battles and powerful vocals.

Though they won’t be serving up any Southern fried chicken any time soon, one thing The Marcus King Band will definitely be dishing out is electrified blues and psychedelic rock tinged with soulful vocals.

Band leader and singer Marcus King has been writing music for at least half his life, and fronting bands for a decade. Musically, the group melds together Duane Allman and Stevie Ray Vaughn vibes with an explosive horn section.

Live, the band are also known for spectacular shows. Their arrangements are tight but loose enough for a slow burning, jazzy jam.
