The Psychotic Reactions’ new single All In My Head will melt your mind

West Australian quartet The Psychotic Reactions are making ’60s-inspired garage rock for the ages. The four scruffy youngsters who make up the band have managed to avoid becoming just another throwback band and have carefully curated the best parts of the era to form their own unique sound.

Their music possesses a rare form of innocence; they’re young people having fun and making music for the sake of making music, no egos in sight.

The Psychotic Reactions have matured both musically and lyrically on their incredible new single All In My Head.

The Psychotic Reactions’ latest single, and the second off their upcoming album,  All In My Head is a slight divergence from the band’s signature ’60s style garage rock. The track is a sign of growth, of change and of maturity, both lyrically and musically.

Recorded on an 8-track tape machine at a friend’s place, All In My Head maintains the raw, dirty sounds of garage rock while experimenting with poppy chord progressions and a smooth melody, partnered with reflective lyrics and husky vocals. Listen to All In My Head via Soundcloud below:

The Psychotic Reactions have had a massive year, playing alongside bands such as The Murlocs, Davey Lane, Jebediah and The Aints while on a huge circuit of the Perth music scene. The band’s debut album is due out in early 2019, but in the meantime catch the band at their single launch tonight at Mojos in Fremantle with supports from Yomi Ship, Fraeya & Band, Isla Imogen (Izatang) and DJ Sweetman.

If you can’t make it tonight, the band are also playing a Christmas show next Saturday at The Aardvark in Perth alongside Lucy Peach, Odlaw, Ghost Care and Pastel Suburbs. Check the Facebook event page for more details.
